The U.S. Senate is about to vote on an amendment to the stimulus bill that would add up to $50 billion more for surface transportation programs without safeguards to prioritize road repairs and better transit.
This would lead to a massive highway system expansion that will spur sprawl, traffic and all the pollution and other environmental damages that come with it.
