Mayor Bloomberg's PlaNYC aims to deliver the cleanest air of any big city in the United States and reduce global warming emissions by 30%. With population growth of one million people expected for New York City over the next 20 years, clean air and transit funding and improvements can't wait.
A diverse coalition of 135 groups supports the plan. Federal funds of up to $500 million to help implement the plan are at stake. They will be forfeited if state legislation is not approved by July 16th.
