The short explanation of this alert was:

On Thursday, California will release its initial findings on restoring Hetch Hetchy Valley. This is the state's first action since the Schwarzenegger administration announced last fall it would review studies on bringing back the valley. These findings will set the stage for the final report at the end of this summer.

Hetch Hetchy Valley, a twin to the famous Yosemite Valley, was dammed last century. Now it’s a giant, billion-gallon water tank. Today, our study shows we have better solutions – we can store the water in other reservoirs. Hetch Hetchy Valley can be restored while San Francisco and other communities keep their supply of electricity and high-quality water from the Tuolumne River.

Take action! Send an email to Governor Schwarzenegger and the California Resources Agency supporting solutions to restore Yosemite’s twin valley.
