This is it! The full Senate is now debating the 2007 Farm Bill. A vote is expected in the next few days. At least $6 billion in new conservation funding is needed to help farmers help the environment and the Senate is considering a Farm Bill that falls short of that goal. Fortunately, some Senators will offer amendments to help.
Send an email! Tell your Senators to support amendments that increase conservation funding in the Farm Bill.
Make a phone call! Call your Senators (202-224-3121) and tell them to support amendments that increase conservation funding in the Farm Bill. Specifically, the Lugar-Lautenberg reform amendment, the Grassley-Dorgan payment limits amendment and the McCaskill-Brown crop insurance amendment.
